What is the Snap Store, and is it safe?
The Snap Store is a central catalogue of Linux apps packaged as snaps. Here's how it works and why it's trustworthy.

The Snap Store (snapcraft.io) is a central place to install Linux apps packaged as snaps. One snap runs across distributions, and updates are delivered automatically in the background.
Why it's trustworthy
- Snaps run confined, with limited access to the rest of your system.
- Updates are automatic and signed, so you stay on the latest version without re-downloading anything.
- Many apps are published by the original developers themselves.
Permissions ("interfaces")
A snap can only use the system resources it declares. You can review and change these with snap connections <app> and snap connect/disconnect, so an app only touches what it needs.
Every Download button here opens the app's official Snap Store page, where you install it.
